The engraving appears here in its second state which was first published in the second edition of the Quadrupeds. The third state was first published in the seventh (1820) edition. In the first edition, the animal is referred to as the "Giraffe," but this name is dropped in the fifth (1807) edition, when the Latin Cervus cameleopardalis is added.
